FFY2024 Goals and Action Steps

for ESG

The State of Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) is currently preparing its  FFY2024/SFY2025 Annual Action Plan for the 2023-2027 Consolidated Plan for the State fiscal year beginning July 1, 2024. The application submission periods for the Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) Program will begin in April 2024.

The DCA ESG Program competition will open Monday, April 8, 2024.

The DCA ESG Program will have four (4) Q & A webinars offered during the competition. Local government entities and non-profit organizations applying for the ESG Program are encouraged to attend at least (1) Q & A webinar.

Hello current GICH communities and alumni!

These are the applications for Alumni Certification and the new GICH Senior Year Program. These are separate applications and you do not have to fill out one to fill out the other. To apply for GICH Senior Year, you must be certified. If you are planning to apply for GICH Senior Year but are not currently certified, please submit an alumni certification application first. If you meet the qualifications, you will be eligible to apply for GICH Senior Year.

Beginning January 1, 2024, economic development projects requesting an allocation amount greater than $20,000,000 must receive a letter affirming the financial feasibility of this transaction from the Georgia Department of Economic Development.

(Atlanta November 2023) GICH Senior Year is a new, competitive program for GICH Certified Alumni Communities with a mission to holistically invest affordable housing funds into Georgia communities based on their strategic vision.  The goal for The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) is to braid targeted investments in 1-2 targeted and competitively selected alumni communities. Those braided investments may include guaranteed awards or strong competitive advantage within LIHTC, CHIP, and CDBG.

Notice is hereby given that the Department of Community Affairs will hold a public hearing in accordance with the Administrative Procedures Act, O.C.G.A. §50-13-1, et seq. The hearings will afford all interested persons reasonable opportunity to provide data, views, or arguments regarding proposed revised rules for the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI 1.0) program (Rules of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, Chapter 110-31-.01, et seq.).

ATLANTA ( October 3, 2023)The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) announced applications for the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCV) will be open from October 17, 2023, at midnight until October 20, 2023, at  11:59 p.m. Formerly known as Section 8, this HUD-funded program assists low-income families and individuals to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing. This is the first time since 2021 that the HCV wait list has been opened to serve additional eligible applicants.
