Public Hearing on proposed revisions to the Minimum Standards for Local Comprehensive Planning

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND INTENT TO ADOPT REVISIONS TO THE MINIMUM STANDARDS FOR LOCAL COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING

Notice is hereby given that the Department of Community Affairs will hold public hearings in accordance with the Administrative Procedures Act, O.C.G.A. §50-13-1, et seq. The hearings will afford all interested persons reasonable opportunity to provide data, views, or arguments regarding proposed revisions to the Minimum Standards for Local Comprehensive Planning (Rules of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, Chapter 110-12-1, et seq.).

A public hearing will be held at 10:00 A.M.  on July 17, 2018, in the Boardroom (room 302) of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, 60 Executive Park South, N.E., Atlanta, Georgia 30329.

An additional public hearing will be held at 1:30 P.M. on July 24, 2018, at University of Georgia, Tifton Campus Conference Center, 15 RDC Road, Tifton, Georgia, 31793.

Any party wishing to provide data, views, or arguments regarding the proposed rules in writing may do so by submitting them to: Comprehensive Planning, Office of Planning and Environmental Management, Georgia Department of Community Affairs, 60 Executive Park South, N.E., Atlanta, Georgia 30329, or by presenting them at either of the public hearings. These written comments should be received no later than 5:00 P.M. on August 2, 2018.

Notice is hereby given that at a meeting beginning at 10:30 A.M. on August 8, 2018, in the Boardroom (room 302) of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, 60 Executive Park South, N.E., Atlanta, Georgia 30329, the Board of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) intends to adopt revised Minimum Standards for Local Comprehensive Planning (Rules of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, Chapter 110-12-1, et seq.).  If adopted by the Board of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, the proposed rules will become effective on October 1, 2018.

The Department’s authority to administer this program is recognized in the Georgia Planning Act, O.C.G.A. 50-8-2, et seq. A complete copy of these proposed rules is available for public inspection in the Office of Planning and Environmental Management, Georgia Department of Community Affairs, 60 Executive Park South, N.E., Atlanta, Georgia 30329, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., each Monday through Friday (excluding State holidays).
